Alternative food to massivoire?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
NLS mega fish food looks just like massivore. It's very nutritious for your fish and it doesn't give off the smell. My fish took to it right away and really enjoy it

I would love to say you will not have any problems switching them and that on the first try they will eat it but honestly they wont. You will have to starve them and work with them. The 10mm is a very nice pellet and they will hit it because its the same size but wont fully eat it till you spend the time working with them on it. But once they are on it you will be giving them a great quality food. I ordered mine through big al's recently but I think they are out but I found amazon has it so it seems

Same here. Hitting it wasn't the problem. Swallowing was at first.....takes a little time.

I switched my bottom feeders to tilapia and just converted the bass to 5.5mm cichlids pellets from kenfishfood. This stuff is just as good as hikari Cichlid gold without the smell. You definitely do not want to go too big until you have them trained. Kenfishfood pellets are very hard compared to hikari. It's good if you worry about hikari flaking.

My fish eat it good, but it seemed to be about half crumbs. You have that problem? I wrote them an email asking but got no reply.

I have never used this, its too big for my fish, Ive used the Big fella stuff and did not notice that much crumbs. The largest pellet I feed my fish is the 7.5mm NLS floater.

I'm looking for a replacement pellet to the Hikari food sticks for the same reason, the odor.

Anyone know what size pellet is comparable in overall size to the food sticks/carnivore sticks? 3mm, 5mm, etc? Thinking of trying out the NLS Floating pellets if I can figure out what size is closest.

Sera granuar is similar in shape to hikari.. A little shorter but pretty much same width

I feed my polys and big cichlids Tetra "Jumbomin" sticks (used to be called tetra cichlid jumbo sticks). They are the same size as massivore sticks and I have never noticed any issues with smell. I've been using them in conjunction with other foods for about 3 years now.
