Do spider plants work, or are they poisonous?

My rule of thumb is if it can grow hydroponically, it can probably be used for some sort of filtration. I don't think I'd do succulents or plants that require dry soil.

I've had good success with using Monstera deliciosa (never tested nitrates though) in a minimally planted/stocked tank.

My first steps. Have some wj on the way. Once these get going I’ll start them in other tanks. So far golden and silver satin potho and Xmas cactus that’s just there for the humidity wasn’t doing well in other spot I had it.

Do I need to add any lighting for plants or will the tank lighting be enough?

This give me hope. I just recently went and bought a monstera deliciosa for my big tank. I’m hoping it grows quickly so I can get more for my other tanks. It was an expensive plant by my terms lol
