I haven't had a stingray for several years. But prior to that, (collectively with me and my friends, we have had 6-7 stingrays all together; I say collectively because whenever someone goes on vacation, we house sit for them.)
Well, I am a recent proud owner of a 4 inch motoro! When the ray initially got into the tank, it sat there staring at me and did not move. It didn't really do anything but just watched me. So being afraid whether it would do the dreaded death curl, I fed him some bloodworms.
So Charles gobbled it up like there was no tomorrow. Then returned to staring at me. Now, for the past hour, its been swimming up the top of the aquarium till its beak went past the water, its been doing this for quite sometime, and I was wondering whether there is something wrong with the water, or is it just plainly active?
One of my friends' stingray, used to "float" out of the water when it felt that the water was bad. My friend assumed initially that it was doing some wierd trick, but it died (a Leo). So I'm wondering, is there something the stingray is trying to tell me? Is there something wrong with my water or him? Or am I just acting like a worrisome parent? Over analyzing things?
P.S. when he I got picked him from the litter, he did not swim as much as this, but barely walked around the bottom.
Thanks in advance guys.
