Is there anyone else with the "balls" to step up and say "I DON'T WANT KIDS!"?

I'm tired of people telling me "You'll change your mind" or "I felt the same way" or "It's different if it's your own"

I've only read the first post and I'm not going to read the rest. I'm just going to say that one day YOU WILL change your mind.....





LIKE HELL!!!!!! I'm in the same boat, I don't mind kids, as long as they belong to other people and they're well behaved, but I can't ever see myself having them. I can't afford to fund all my expensive hobbies as it is, let alone buy a house, so why the hell would I want to create something I have to pay thousands of dollars to support. Also, I think of how it was for me growing up and how much things have changed in the last 27 years, and try to imagine what it would be like for someone growing up in todays world. I miss the freedoms I used to have, and I would have loved to grow up in my fathers generation where they had even more freedoms. I don't think I'll ever want to bring another person into the world with the direction that its heading...

Oh, and I'm the only male with my surname (aside from Dad) so I'm left to carry on the family name. I've decided I'm going to one day start a pub/brewery to continue the name...

Wow! To each his own everyone is different-personally my life would have no meaning without my son. Before him I was headed to jail or 6 feet under-now I am a teacher and life is awesome!! I guess everyone is different-but everytime I see my son I have a feeling of pride-with that said I provide him with everything but at the same time lay down the law when I need to.

repeat what you just said, but imagine you had everything going for you and you really dislike (read: cant stand) kids.

I agree with what you said about personal preference, but I say to each "their" own, because believe it or not, LOTS of women don't want kids either.

I'm proud of myself so far for using the term "kid". I'm usually a lot less PC LOL.

Just like how I cant understand how you like them. As long as they're well behaved I can tolerate them, but I just don't want anything to do with them.

But I have one.. I just like MY kid. I'm sure at some point when he's older, people wont like him. But he IS a boy and half of his family has ADD so he's screwed. But i will try my best to keep him from being a snot nosed brat like so many other kids i run into.

JUST because you cant stand kids and dont like to be around them doesnt mean you hate them. hate is a strong word and for some reason all these wierdos think that just because you dont LIKE kids, automatically that means you hate them.

These people need to pull the rods out of their behinds and realize that their kids are annoying and not everyone has to love them like they do.

I am sure that you are not referring to me, Nekojin, as one of "those people" with "rods on their behinds" as you so aptly describe, but the mere fact of your quoting Levi's reply to my post, sort of makes me have to again post in this thread.

The inference that not "liking" kids equates to "hating" them, is yours only. I am sure that both expressions existing in the english language must lead to the inescapable conclusion that there are different meanings addressed to both words.

The inference that "not wanting kids" is equivalent to someone being "weird", is, again, yours alone...

I have seen no reference to that frame of mind anywhere in this thread.

I realize i quoted what he said from your post. but i was referring to the people that made him start this thread to begin with. Not you and not anyone in particular on this site, but the people that got on his nerves enough for him to post this thread in the first place.

I wonder what kind of man I might have become.
I know the choice was best for him. But not the best for me.
You might be right, to not have one in your life.
And I don't want another. Nor do I want to take him from the family he now knows.
But if I had that moment back to choose again...I would be the man I should have been.
