I think he said he has the pond sectioned off, so some off the less aggresive ones don't get killed

Nice fish, but bad mixes.
They look plenty friendly to me. :)

How can he be surprised??? Rays don't just appear out of air...
Not to be a smart ass, I am just not following this.

They can appear that way, but looking at the stock, I'd expect some fish losses. He even stated his Discus were eaten/killed.
Now they are sectioned in another area.

yo...ok...heres the deal. Its easy for folks who keep their fishes in tanks to keep track of their aquatic buddies. Bt i'm keeping my fishes in a pond, with tonnes of hiding spaces and stuff like that. the rays, we are plenty sure how many. bt the amount of other fishes just doesnt seem as much when u just look at the pond. And because of some of the fish's abilities to stay hidden for long and not needing to feed too often, we sometimes label certain fish MIA, then after awhile KIA, then all of a sudden, we find it again! And predation occurs too. Just last weekend, we caught our Gulper cat with a ginormous full belly. We kept it in a floating cage while deciding what to do with it, and next thing we knw, he belches out one of my Catla.sp.

bottom line is, we never noticed how fully stocked our pond is, cuz we always have fsh hiding, and the pond never looks crowded.

the indo pacific tarpon......not the atlantic giants.....haha. the discus population was decimated by one hungry gulper cat....now, only the veterans are left.

damn would be a shame if some kid tossed a baby pongee into your pond while you were away... or what about a box jelly fish O_o

and yet all are doing pretty well.;)

reddragon,nice setup!
and certainly an awesome mix of fishes...i'd like to see it in person sometime.:D
i dont see how a gulper actually survives in there though....doesnt get very big and would have been eaten or killed i would have thought.
oh...and did you say you had an AUSSIE LUNG????????????:WHOA:
