Siad this before im all pro gun but had i been a gun whacko i would have used this to further my opinion (the hunters) small number of idiots give a great number of responsible people a bad rap

I think it was the same movie where he claimed in Canada they don't lock their doors. Which is totally false. My wife stayed with a family there that had alarms and 3 locks on every door. That place was locked up tighter then Fort Knox. In fact when she came to live with me...she chewed me out for not locking the house during the daytime when I was there.
You obviously haven't visited South Africa.

The safest way to carry is hands off the trigger guard and pointed at the ground, that's how I always carry on the farm and even with a pellet gun it's only pointed up when unloaded and in the bag over my shoulder.

Crime and gun crimes in Australia are dramatically lower than in the US, even after Australia's gun reform.

This article describes how some have cherry picked statistics to show that Australian gun law reforms haven't worked: http://theconversation.com/faking-w...-americans-abuse-australian-crime-stats-11678

While the impact of the Australian gun laws is still debated, there have been large decreases in the number of firearm suicides and the number of firearm homicides in Australia. Homicide rates in Australia are only 1.2 per 100,000 people, with less than 15% of these resulting from firearms...

Homicide and suicide rates have declined in Australia since the 1990s. Deaths results from firearms have plunged even more dramatically. In Australia, mass shootings similar to Port Arthur, Hoddle Street and Strathfield have not occurred for over a decade.

Is this the result of the gun laws introduced by the Howard government? While some (particularly gun advocates) dispute their impact, several studies conclude the laws have made a difference.

Claims that Australian gun laws have increased crime are pure spin and deception. They say more about American partisan politics than about the reality in Australia.
