American cichlids tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Good morning fish lovers
I'm planning to upgrade to a 75G in a couple of days
I currently have a 30G with 2 keyhole
1 threadfin acara.
1 paradise gourami
1 rainbow shark
I plan to rehome the shark and gourami
My questions are. What American cichlids can I have in my 75G
What are some peaceful amercian cichlids that won't bother my very peaceful keyholes

I have an electric blue acara, electric blue jd and a fire mouth with mine. They are fine except the fire mouth does stay away from the others.

Not really. The electric blue JD likes to stay in a ship decor thing. The fire mouth usually stays on the opposite side of the tank of the other two. The electric blue acara is the boss.
Lmaoo really
That's good. I'm tryna to figure out what I should get

Angelfish and discus are cichlids and will work for keyholes, but not jd or firemouth. Geophaguses are supposed to be chill, but I have never had any so I don't know. Severums are tough and gentle, and I think would work with keyholes and angels, with discus, some people say yes, some say no. From personal experience, rams are ridiculously delicate and need RO water, something expensive that I don't intend on getting. This may be something to consider.

Be sure not to get a breeding pair of Angels, as they can get rather aggressive. I've had them challenge and chase away fish 5x their size. I have two Severums and they only chase fish who chase them first, which is still very rare. They never nip fins, even if a fish nips theirs. I rarely even see aggression from them during feeding, which is when my tank gets most hectic.

Thanks a lot. I'm a amateur. So it's no way I can keep dicuss now
My other cichlid might chase the angelfish
But I'll search for the other one you mention
