American cichlids tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I agree with tlindsey about rams, or some of the other dwarf cichlids (Apistogramma come to mind).
And agree with Jon Clark, because keyholes are on the timid side, none of the more boisterous larger cichlids will work.
Even the most benign of the Central American cichlids would be too much for keyholes, as would be and Hemichromis (African jewel species), way too aggressive..

Either rams, eartheaters (smaller varieties), or blue acaras. Angels received their common name for their looks not
their attitude. They are more cranky than your withered up grandpa.
That may be true, but they are not capable of hurting anything capable of moving. They do a very good job of killing each other, but do not hurt any other fish to big to ear IME.

That what I told my adult rummy nose tetras right before they died.
I stand corrected. My angels don't even harm my guppies, even though 2 paired off (I hope I got a breeding pair in exchange for the carnage) and killed the other 3. I guess not all angels behave like mine.

I have a group of 5 keyholes in with my green terror and Severums and rainbow cichlid and true parrot, they are settled in and love to eat so are growing fast idk if they don't get picked on bc of the size group they are in but I love them great fish to keep.

I wouldn't do discus in this tank, but as long as you do weekly water changes you are qualified for discus.
Yea I'm not experience enough to have discuss
Just a couple of cichlids I want.
I really don't want to rehome my keyhole cichlids
Would a mature keyhole bully other smaller fishes
I know their one of the most peaceful fish
