u might be doing something or have done something wrong that u haven't disclosed to us.

otherwise, all i can say is,

their both still cycling, continue with the water changes and use seachem stability.

well the ph in the 40 was off the chart two days ago an i got it down two 2.0 with about 4 or 5 water changes an my well water as no ammonia in it. so i cant under stand why it wont come down any lower than 2.0 i ave ran bacterial suplment to hel jump start it an im going tommorrow to get some seachems jump start kit. the 40 has killed 17 fish in less than a weeks time.

''two 2.0'' meaning the ammonia correct? in that first sentence it almost reads like ur referring to the ph going down to 2. :D

take ur time when u post, there's no rush. that's how miscommunication and problems start. we all want to help u here, but u got to learn to help yourself too.

start from the very beginning and don't leave out a single detail lets see what we can discover together. maybe we can find the problem and the solution. remember take ur time writing and be very clear and specific.

ok i set the 40 up three weeks ago an the ammonia has been off the charts an after doing god only know how many water changes an chemicals to bring the ammonia down it aint funny. so i set this 55 up i got the other day an i have started to cylce it by adding bacterial supplement to it . an i plan on going an getting some seachems jump start to get it completly straight with in a few days or so. i have two cichlids in the tank now an one raphel catfish . the 40 has managed to kill 17 fish in the last week . i get the ammonia down to 2.0 an then all the fish start dieing .so i figure it cant hurt to get them out of all that ammonia in the 40

if that's all there is then the problem and solution are simple and i have already said it.

u need to be patient. the cycle can take anywhere from 1 week to 1 month and more sometimes. both ur tanks or obviously not cycled. just continue with the water changes and use seachem stability.

however, to be honest u haven't been as specific as i would of hoped for. u forgot to mention every single piece of equipment in each tank and what u are using for media. :D:nilly:

ok the 55 is doing great my ammonia is 0 an ph is 7.8 an nitrate is 5.0 an nitrite is 0 the three fish are doing great the even started to eat a little bit again
