AMONIA?????

Have to Let your Tank Cycle Fully.

After a Full Cycle ammonia shouldn't be an issue.

Have you cycled your tank.

if not do a search for CYCLING on the forum.

ALot of info on that.

Good Luck

yes my tank is fully cycled but I did a test and the amonia is like crazy high and the fish are fine wtf? anyways did a water change but would love to know the best meds to use to always main it correct?

Any chemical that you add to your tank to remove ammonia is only a short term fix. As stated above, ammonia shouldn't be an issue in a fully cycled tank. If your tank has been set up for a long period of time, you may not have adequate bio-filtration, or your tank could be drastically over-stocked.

no over stock or over feeding maybe I'm a tard but never had an amonia problem ever first time I've had from 110 -155 gallons and never ever had this problem the tank is a 240 and in it is 1 rtc 22" 1 rtc 14" 1 oscar 12" 1 rd 12" and 3 pacu with room to spare

hym I wonder if its the new fx5 I just put on I had the other fully cycled but this one just added like 5 days ago????

What are your water Perams?
filters used?
substrate?
what do you feed them?
schedule of w/c, siphoning the gravel?

that might be your issue.

2 fx5 in a 240 its an odd number 240 its the 6' instead of the 8'

playsand for sub I feed them 3 times a week to keep them just good enough and water is always a steady 82

I would say "room to spare" is a matter of opinion. The two rtc's alone are creating a ton of waste. I'll assume that the pacu are still small. That being said, you're going to continue to have ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate issues as long as you keep all those fish in a tank that small. IMO, 800g would be the minimum for that list. You will have to start doing water changes on a daily basis to keep things under control.

What type of filtration are you running?
