AMONIA?????

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You may want to drop the water temp to 76-78 to slow the metabolism of you stock. That will help cut down on waste. Ammonia also decreases in toxicity as the temperature drops.

2 fx5" thats alot of over kill filtration

With your stocklist, there's no such thing as "over kill filtration"

hym did not kno this one so drop the temp a little huh ok will try this how about the amonia remover bags I use in one of my fx's the other doesnt have any

you should have left the old filter filtering while the FX5's got cycled.

You basically killed off all the Biofiltration when you removed the old filter.

for all those fish your BB on the sub won't be enough.

i would think about Going with a Sump about half the size of that Tank.

IMO.

but others might say different.

no I left the old one on aswell didnt remove anything just added new filter to get more filtration

Again, any chemical products designed to remove ammonia will only provide a short term fix for your problems.

The only effective way to remove ammonia is through the nitrogen cycle.

Check out this link, lots of good info: http://www.americanaquariumproducts.com/Nitrogen_Cycle.html

will be an ok temp fix but at the stocking levels it will have absorbed all the amonia it can in a short time and just make a poor bio area.try removing it and adding scrubbies. you might want to consider a constant water change system so as your stock grows you can keep the prams under control
