Here in Missouri, there is no waiting period anyways. And a background check is a background check. You either check it or you don't; there is no half-ass.

Sure, state law says whether there is a waiting list or not. Does that mean that every time a gun gets sold at a gunshow there is a background check run or waiting period followed? Most of the times. But if you have enough cash, and and you're dealing with a seedy enough person then not always.
This may not be a problem where you live, but in Texas there's gun's sold at shows without b/g checks all the time.

The only thing they are really good at doing is killing people, and seeing how that is wrong, let alone illegal I dont know why people fuss so much about the automatic weapons ban. As far as gun control goes, I own several guns, but all of them are intended for hunting. I am all for restricting handguns, automatic weapons and other guns intended for killing people. I do not believe however, that people shouldnt be allowed to own weapons. Idealy I think the government should restrict the sales of "assault rifles" and other dangerous things, through high taxes and tougher regulations. I dont want the adverage person running around with a gun that can kill hundreds of people in a few minutes, thats just not right. I know its not guns that kill peopls, its people who kill people, but there are way too many crazy people with guns. Anyway, thats just my opinion. I hope there will be tougher regulations in the future, but I do not want recreationial shooting and hunting to be abolished.
