So I spoke with my Landlord and he thinks I can put a 12000lbs tank in this house. there are 4 steel beams running along the house. two in the center and one on each side, and the outterwall is where i planned on putting the tank anyways
simple way to test it out....... have like 20 people stand in the exact spot you wanna keep the tank. observe any changes in the floor or and bowing or warping. if you can do this for a few minutes without any problems, go ahead with the tank. it sounds crazy, but honestly it would work! haha
I would stick to the 300G personally though the floor may support more I personally wouldn't.
Reasons:
your renting (wait till you get a place of your own)
build the 300 and learn from the mistakes before you tackle the big one.
just because its steel doesn't mean its engineered to handle the load.
300G is a great stepping stone to the big one.
we get to see another build at a later date when you do go bigger
Sounds good, while searching on craigslist for plywood and aquarium parts i fell upon something i liked. so i ended up with a new toy, ill post pics of mine asap, as of now this is it. good commuter for work
