I went against my better judgment and put my Dovii in my community tank... he is the biggest fish at about 8"... so far he has taken over, but has not tried to kill anyone... except maybe my lil Festae... she grows so dang slow, all the other fish are now way bigger than her and the gap just keeps getting wider!! The Festae is only 3" (still!!) and I think the Dovii will see her as food... all the other fish are in the 5-7" range. He looks at the catfish like "what the heck are you", but has not done any damage or anything. The vulture cat actually went after him once, lol... not smart tho. Anyway, I've always wanted to keep a Dovii long term and this time I think I will!!!

I ain't mad at ya... Couple of months ago I came real close to buying one when my local fish store, which may have had them two other times in 20 years had some juvies .... I called a good friend of mine after I left and he went and bought 3.... haven't seen them yet.....he says they are growing real nice... got a male and two females.... Says his male is got the colors and the hump going on... I'm going to pay him a visit soon... Good luck with yours...

Since I sold my jags my dovii became quite shy . hardly ever coming out from under his driftwood. picked up some black skirt tetras and a couple good size silver dollars for dithers. Instant difference in the dovii ' behavior. Colors are popping. Will post video and pics soon .


Damn misjudged the size of the tetras and the dovii ' speed started with ten 8 left already.

Yup sold the pair of jags. Just the dovii and devil now.and dithers.once the dovii gets bigger I will Rehome the devil, and when the time comes step up to a bigger tank for the dovii.have the divider in place until the dovii is fully settled in.tank is a 120, dovii is around 6".devil is 8-9"
