Angel Fish Eggs??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah...I had to remove them. I've let them eat the last batch. I didn't plan on them laying eggs as I wasn't hoping /looking for that to happen. haha...

The tank they are in the eggs would get DEVOURED...they are just on the 3 week mark since the last batch was laid so, I'm assuming they will lay again, and I think I'll leave them.

I just wanted to try my hand at raising the eggs articifically first, and if that doesn't pan out, I'll reset the tank up so that I can move the angels over

yayy...we've got the start of wigglys lol....a few more non fertile eggs but..all looks promising so far..if only I could take a darn picture of the small things!..sooooo cute!

YAY:)Free swimming babiesss...started eating brine shrimp on Saturday!...I'm trying to research online as to how long they should be eating brine shrimp before I introduce crushed up flake food?...The only time frame I really found was once they become free swimming feed them newly hatched brine shrimp for 2 weeks and then mix in crushed flake ect...

They're in that basket because I made a rookie mistake..*sighs*..long story but, I'm surprised this many survived my boo boo thus far...

Best of luck with your fry... your going to have your hands full for the next few weeks...

Looking good. You can feed them brine shrimp for a long time, I think most people just find it easier to feed flake. Try some flake after a couple weeks, but I'd still keep feeding brine every day too. Fry need to eat constantly, especially after a week or two--I feed mine every time I walk by the tank.
Make sure to keep up on those water changes! At least 50% every other day.

Yeah no kidding..I can only imagion the waste they are producing lol....Just did another w/c last night..:) A couple of weeks? it takes them about 8 weeks once they are done free swimming to even resemble a mini angel fish correct? How long should I keep them before passing along the torch if they do make it that far...

Thanks a bunch guys:)For my first attempt at articifically hatching and raising these guys, things have gone decently well:) I mean, I know they are angel fish lol

Random other thought..I was thinking of purchasing an additional 100-130 gallon tank.. Letting it run its cycle course(which I'm sure inbetween I'd have some more babies) ...Do angels and discus mix well together/has it been done or..are the water perameters FAR to different...?

Thanks,
Kat
