Okay this is going to sound absolutely retarded but... once they have paired off, if you separate them is it possible for them to miss each other? After posting last night, I went to check on them (remember they were in separate tanks). It took me a while to find them, but when I did, I couldn't believe it. Both of them were against the side of their respective aquarium, staring at each other through the glass. I caught the black one and moved it into the 20g with the other one - the first angel immediately started chasing off the younger pair of angels every time they got near the black one. From what you've said, it sounds like these two have paired off. YAY!!!
