No, the parents have to fan fresh water on the eggs, else they mildew.
It's not a surprise that Cichlids will do that for the first spawn. I suggest that putting a peice of slate in the aquarium would be better then you could remove the slate with the eggs on them to a hatchery aquarium. Please do what we suggested in the earlier post.
I'm going to be getting sponge filters soon. I do have some slate in there from before, might add some more. I'm also going to put a thing around the filter intake soon.
my pair has very inconsistent spawn rastes (12days to 2 months)...but you can jncrease it with protein rich food
Hello; A couple of years ago a pair of angels spawned for me. I made a thread and will post the link.
My experience my be different from yours. My pair would always eat the eggs or fry so to raise some fry I had to set up a separate tank.
