sad new they ate the eggs. :(

 Don't worry, it takes them a few times to get it right.

my angelfish just breed for the first time in 3 weeks!!!! I think they got tired and needed a brake....:naughty:

Hi Pacu...It is exciting isn't it. I am new to MFK and I have a 55 gal tank. I too have a mated pair of Angels. My female is golden like yours. Her first mate was totaly black. They went through several spawing and they tried their best to protect their spawn. The black male angel I called Ebony was real good at keeping the other fish at bay. It was quite a joy to watch.
Now when I was successful w/ a spawing in a community tank I placed a divider which gave the parents a better chance to raise their young. Once the fry hatched before they were swimming I sucked them up w/ a turkey baster and placed them in a nursery net and removed the parents to the other side of the divider. Once the fry began to swim I fed them frozen baby brine shrimp. Raising the fry took weeks before I could release them on the divided side and months before they were the size of a quarter. I did this a few times and traded the angels w/ the local pet store. It was a lot of fun and a lot of work.
Now my tank is heavly planted and placing a divider is not possible so I just enjoy the show.
If your pair does well at defending their spawn and take good care of the nest then consider the divid.
If you are interested I can send you pic of a floating nursery net I created which worked real well. sketches98@cox.net

It is fun to watch the parents care for there young. It is fun and a lot of work like you said. I am having pretty good luck with raising the fry, and sending them on there way to the store that will bye them. Right now I am growing out 4 platinums that i hope to get another pair out of so I can broden my range, (and make more money).

After almost a month of no babies I think that the parents are back at it again. They spawned 1 1/2 weeks ago and then they spawned 2 days ago, so hopefully they will keep at it.
