Check the new National Geographic Wild channel, its like the old Animal Planet and generally has some good, non made up B.S. on there.

Thats why i'm happy that I get National Geographic Wild, Its all animals all the time. It's one of those channels you can turn on and leave on all day, just good show after good show.

Animal Planet is now doing I believe a 4 part mini series on The Cove, one of the few shows I may actually be intrested in from that channel. It looks like it will be intresting. I havent seen the film on it yet though.
Yeah,I saw the commercial for that mini series and I'll be watching it..One disturbing thing that stood out to me in The Cove was that the guy Ric O Barry basically stated that Sea World condones the slaughters.

I miss the old days when they showed documentaries! I miss the crocodile hunter and jeff Corwin's show. I hate the dog shows and the other BS shows.

This is from my understanding on that situation. The parks bought the dolphins to save them thinking it was the right thing to do, unfortuently that just gives them profit to keep doing what they are doing. I personally dont agree with it either. I dont think the park was trying to condone it, they just wanted to help save the dolphins. Either way though it was a bad idea and I dont think it was the right thing to do.

They need to cater to their demographic, which is Americans, and we're stupid. I see the future of our planet being a mix between the movies Wall-E and Idiocracy.
i was thinking the same thing lol

i hate animal planet, they run all crap shows on people getting killed, or reality shows about garbage. And whale wars :screwy:

Ash I don't want to deviate from this very good thread but I hope to discuss that situation with you and others here after you have gotten a chance to see the film...There are a few interesting things that he brings up about Sea World.

I've noticed this as well...I usually have the TV on from 9pm-12am or so, they are all crap. They repeat the same show, same episode, over and over and over. Rarely you find a new episode of something. The Pit Bull shows drive me nuts...you could not have found two worse groups of people to film (especially Pit Boss...what a joke, it's so fake, the guy is just promoting his business-NOT pit bulls). River Monsters would be fine if it wasn't the same thing-over and over. Some of the other shows don't need to be stretched out for a full hour...blah. Yeah, I don't watch much of it anymore.

I miss animal planet in the mid 90's and early 2000. :( Even though i was 5 in 1996 i still remember the great shows they use to have!
