yeah they are... but i know if/when/cani decide to get into rare rays... i know where im going to ask.... you guys crack me up.. but you keep eachother and the importers honest more often then not.
Come on Guys Alan (DB) made an error of judgement on a persons character, this comes with trying to see the good in people rather than always looking for the bad, god I a have been guilty of this in the past and sometimes like in this case that person lets you down..BIG TIME!!
Has for him sticking his nose in to other peoples business I think that is unfair, its these sort of unnecessary comments that make valued contributors like Alan throw the towel in. He has acknowledged he made a mistake which is more than most would do , so lets leave him out of this!

to me..everyone is part of this stingray puzzle thats trying to be put together..

i honestly dont have a problem with DB..he has a problem with me.

I agree, we all have a part to play understanding these incredible creatures, I bought my first ray over 35 years ago and like everyone else I'm still learning new stuff thanks to sharing experiences with everyone one on here, its a never ending subject, anyone that says they know it all is probably better off not been part of this huge universal family.......lets all get on,make a fresh start if need be, its far more pleasurable that way.
It takes a lot to make me upset. Don't get me wrong there are people fully capable of doing it, but they just go on the ignore list and I carry on. Venom, you're not one of those people.
I get irritated when I see people drag vendors through the mud. Don't get me wrong, obviously some deserve it, but when some of the nicest rays I have were obtained from one of these questionable vendors, I'm going to back the guy. Why? Cause I have swimming proof of decent transactions. I've seen several decent vendors disappear because hobbyists are unable to admit the mistakes they make, resulting in a dead fish, and in turn another vendor's name tarnished cause they're too big of coward to admit they made a mistake. They get away with it and then repeat. In a few years we will have NO source for new rays, only the ones being bred by breeders. Why? Cause we as hobbyists are so ungreatfull that nobody in thier right mind would ever even think about trying to do the impossible and please the unpleasable.
As far as this transaction, I'm not saying crap. It's nobodies business yet, as I'm still hoping to see the situation resolved. If it doesn't get resolved I'll take legal action and eventually the truth will come out.
I've been a very devoted member on this forum, cause I've learned a lot here, so I feel it necassary to contribute back what I can. I mix fish that shouldn't be mixed and let everyone know how it goes so they can use my experience in making a decision for themselves. I risk my own animals, and instead of keeping it to myself I share my experiences with everyone else. I have spent years building a Marble collection of the nicest rays I could find. Only to try to breed them and offer them back to the hobbyists here cause we all know how much fun it is trying to get a nice Marble. I'm not out here spending 4 digits on them cause I think it's fun. I think it's a rip off, but I also think that if others out there enjoy them like I do then screw it I'll take one in the wallet for the team. Same with Falkneri. Nobody wanted to get off thier butt and get some and start breeding them so I did. Nobody that really knows me has anything bad to say about me, cause they know better. I can't count how many times I've sold prized rays to people that I didn't want to sell, just for the good of the hobby. I did it with my prized lady Jag - Sold her to someone with a male and looky now- Hobbyists can buy CB Jags now. I've done it with Marbles, sold my nicest one to someone who has a nicer one to mate with it then I do, that way outstanding pups are available to other hobbyists.
You guys can draw all the conclusions about me you want, but they would likely be different if you actually knew me. I have NO problem whatsoever admitting being wrong. I do it everyday. I'd be a crappy auto technician if I was right all the time, instead I learn from my mistakes, just like I did with car audio. You don't become a world champion by doing things right, you do them wrong and learn from it. That carried on into the fishkeeping when I quit doing car audio. I make mistakes all the time and like to think people learn from them. If anyone has paid attention to my filtration threads you'd know it's been nothing but years of making mistakes and learning from them.

let me say this..granted my filtration isnt the best..but any system that filters its water 3x no matter what size the tank is pretty damn extreme.

i stopped keeping rays a year before you even joined this site. I had a 6 ****ing year ray career before you were even around.

Not that I am defending him at all, but your statment on the illegal is not completly accurate. They can ship out as Orb rays. The definition on them is pretty open. I have my own problems with him as well.
