Another ATF starving question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
he used filamentosa barbs. they were fine for a while schooling and stuff.. let me text him and he can answer better

Ah. I'm elbow deep in so many threads I have trouble keeping them straight at times.

I like the tinfoil barbs because they have a sufficiently aggressive temperament to be able to handle the temperamental, aggressive, transitioning tigerfish. I'm not familiar with the fila barbs, is it possible that they are too timid to survive a transitioning tiger?

Are they albino or the normal ones? There was one guy on here who reported that his ATF was killing the silver ones but was fine with the albinos.

I have the filamentous barbs. They are at this point pretty silver. I think he is starving and going for anything but pellets. Actually thinking of getting a cheap FAFT and work on pellet training him at the same time and figured this might help. I can get hold of a faft already on lanced fish. Hopefully it would make the transition smoother then this guy.
The fish is showing no love for the pellets and is now visibly dropping weight

Where are there any cheap fatf? I've not had any luck at finding one cheaper than $120... the same price I paid for my old TATF.

rt 4 has them for $80 so relatively cheap. I paid about the same as you for my TAFT.

so picked up a faft. Only been a few hours but already had to seperate them. Taft is a pain. Will try them together again when new one settles in.

today the taft started taking pellets. The SDs aren't making it easy for him though. They are steeling the pellets out of his mouth!

Great!

The dollars acting like that is a blessing in disguise. They'll teach him to feed quickly and tenaciously.

Can't be live I missed that about the fatf. How's that whole deal doing?
