i understand how you feel man here in panama is one heck of a problem to find good attention i can tell you its a problem to find people that know what they are talking about but thare are people that know what they are talking about but the majority are just trying to sell.....

My petco has gone down hill. It really is good for nothing no rats for lizards only good for gold fish food. the only way to fix this problem is to get a job there and fix it. It's corporate try to get them to listen. good luck...

You can't rip on the whole chain because one store is inadequate. There are plenty of petsmarts, petcos, etc that are wonderful stores, well maintained, knowledgeably staffed, and sell healthy animals/fish. Then there are others.

Trust me when I say that Petsmart doesn't want you to come into their store and see dying and diseased fish. If you make a complaint to a manager and they are not polite to you and give you a solution to the situation, I highly suggest calling corporate. You should be able to find the contact info on their website. Give the detailed information of what was happening, where you were (store location) and I'm sure something will be done. Whether it takes one try or several is another thing, but in time, the situation should get better.

Also, please remember that Petsmart/Petco have certain policies they must follow as opposed to your local family run pet store.

The petsmart in my city's pretty reasonable. The fish department has some half decent people. The kind that care more than just matching the card categories of Community, semi-agressive, agressive. They do know a little bit more about matching species together and the size requirements. But they're not quite at the MFK level yet. Still good to see some people doing a bit of a good job.

Its good that they dont care about the cards. An employee at petsmart wouldnt sell me a severum and a school of colombian tetras because their cards didnt match. Then i went to a guy who i know is more knowlegable about fish than most other employees there, and he sold them to me.

yea so do i and many others here, but i wont be there for life. the best bet is get college age students who just need a job during that time and know a fair amount. because i don't believe even boggy will be at his store long term (a career of it)

I do ive been there for around 18months now ive had a month off thou recovering from surgery and just needed a break. I get people who judge me cos of my look and age and abuse it isnt nice.

lol , Poor OP really let himself get slammed here. If I don't like a pet smart store I just don't shop there..... The one up here is dreadful and has a 24 year old girl that thinks she knows everything and that is fine I am still civil and we have actually been on a date (She was frigid to say the least) if I have to I stop in I just grab what I need and go..... Being a whiny rude punk never made a petsmart change its policies....


The one in Monterey is very clean , well kept, The fish are actually vibrant. And it has knowledgeable staff. I love that place. So I try not to make blanket statements about chain stores .
