Another entrant into arowana kingdom

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Make sure you cycle you tank properly before you add the arowana. Clown loaches are fine if your aro is not a massive one yet.
CLs grow slowly but they are very fast. I have 6 in with my RTG.
I'm not sure about canister filters, i use a wet and dry. power heads are ok if your fish is big enough to be able to swim in the current or away from any suction there may be.

^ thanks. got the tank delivered only today. cant wait to get back home and start setting it up. then begins the cycling and then my precious will make the journey from the LFS to my home :D

whoa relax guys :D give me some time to set it up :) and of course words without pics are boring and will be posting em up as soon as i start working on the tank...oh how i wish for a 2day holiday :D

and well the downside is i am forced to sell my Flowerhorn [the one in my avatar pic] :( space is a terrible constraint!

they are the second to cheapest aro you can get in terms of colour intensity, i have one,
in my country they cost new zealand dollars 1800 retail, i got mine for 900:D but still expensive, but cheap in our standard.

they can get a nice red colour, when they are 12 inch plus, they develop reddish tail and scales. some say they dont, but thats probably cos they dont look after them like a high grade.
but feeding mealworms, shrimps and really high colour enhaancing pellets, they do develop a nice colour.
but never red like the high grades.

i put a nice light on mine, i tanned it, but can only do so much.
most of it is food and genes.

here is a pic of mine.
i think its nice but if its not much more, buy a higher grade. if this is your first one.
perhaps a cheaper one is a good idea!!

in my country, we dont get gars, if i could, i would have them:D
