I think too many ppl are getting butt hurt over this. I think it is funny how lots of ppl talk like they are a biologist and/or know and understand what is happening because they have read or found a few news articles. 1 Hunting goes to pay for conservation of wildlife so that the hunter can keep hunt that animal. 2 Humans have displaced more animals simply by living than legal licensed hunting has killed. And by this i mean a given area of land can only support so many animals. Once that area shrinks, development, the population shrinks. This population can never rebound to its original size because of land loss. So all the following generations have a net loss of animals from when before ppl displaced them. 3 also all these ppl that keep saying just donate to donate but not to hunt, what is there really to criticize, how much money do you waste on things that are not necessary that could have been donated to help, say............ an endangered species. The last thing, and i think this is ridiculous, there are ppl out there that are will to compare human life with the life of an animal. If you are will to trade the life of a human for the life of an animal that is messed up, now if it is your own life then have at it, but to threaten ppl and their children that is disgusting.

They seemed to do just fine before human intervention. For as long as these animals have been around they've seemed to reproduced fine with old males around.
I just think it's crap that these people say they care about conservation. I really doubt if one of these conversations came to them and said "hey we only need 55000 euros keep us going for another year, can you help out of the kindness of your heart?" that these caring people would donate this money to them.

But that was before we already put the population on decline for other reasons. The old male issue could have been a factor of controlling the population from getting out of hand naturally. You're comparing situations of pre endangerment to post endangerment- it's not the same situation as far as population growth/control right?

do you care if these animals go extinct? and if so do you donate to the preservation of this or other animals? For animal conservation money is needed. I am a fisherman/huntsman and i care a ton about conservation. and guess what i buy tags and licenses to do both. and over the years have contributed thousands of dollars towards conservation through the purchase of tags and licenses to keep hunting and fishing.
I think more ought to be said about how appropriate this is to get attention. Hunters, do you think this is a realistic appropriate hunt for 19 year olds? Do you know if they got to shoot all those animals

I do donate monthly. Wildlife conservation studies was second in line when I started college. Since I went into something else, and I still wanted to help, I decided to start donating. And I don't care to go kill anything to "help".

I look at it like this... It was legal and big money was spent and suppose to go to conservation of stuff over there and help the people that live there then I have no problem with it. I hunt deer mainly but I know others have the money for exotic big game hunts That they may prefer so it doesn't really bother me cause if it's legal in the country they come from then what more is there to complain about. People consider some of these animals ok to keep in zoos, circuses, or as pets but to them that's different. I bet plenty die in zoos and just get replaced or can't be cared for and put down but you won't hear about that. I'd rather a legal hunter take one . Legal is legal so instead of complaining of the hunter why don't people complain to the country that allows it? People start paying these countries to stop the hunts like the hunter who pay big money to hunt then maybe it will stop but people won't do it cause they aren't going to want to give up their money Everytime a country is in need of funds... Especially when they may be struggling to make ends meet themselves. If supermarkets and grocery stores came to a end what would people that rely on them do? I'm pretty sure their going to do what it takes to stay alive and this may be the same stuff going on in these countries that allow these hunts... People trying not to die...... It's in people's nature to destroy. Unless you live in a hut in the middle of the woods everyday you get up you are doing something to destroy wether it be the planet or nature your doing something. Eating something, driving around, or the house or building you sleep in... Something that affects habitat or the planet took place for you to be where you are today. We destroy and nothing is safe. That also includes people from people. The one true way to save other life would be to take down the human population by 50% world wide.
