might want to change the tittle, this plane did not crash, it was blown out of the sky with a 9 mile debree(sp) field.
 
If Americans were on board(which is still unconfirmed) then the people and country need to be held accountable. This is a deliberate takedown of a commercial airliner not an accident.. This was an advanced radar guided system not some little shoulder mounted rocket.. It needs to be viewed as an act of war against us and our allies.

un confirmed report is 25 Americans on board. and you are right on the system, it comes with a warning system that reads the transponder and reports that it is a civilian air liner, takes 5 trained folks to use, wither folks trained enough to use it properly another matter. but? they should have never had one to use to begin with, it was supplied to them.
 
It was shot down with a Russian mobile surface to air launcher. SA 17. The rebels aka pro russia troops did it it with russian weapons.

this a defense wep, Russia may plead that they only let them have it for that purpose. its not a feasible offence wep as its radar based guidance. try to use on a fighter jet and you locked and dead. its to take out incoming missiles and the such.
 
MSNBC thought they had scoop. just goes to show how news agencies are trying to get the scoop with out verifying there source.

guys, i just got back from Kiev in may. i have lived there for the past couple of years.
there are no pro-russian separatists. they are eastern ukrainians (who are russian speakers) who decided not to recognized the new government (the old one was overthrown). i was a witness to many events in kiev.
russia is NOT at war with ukraine. it is the new new government that is at war with its own people.

i dont know what happened with the plane, but i have a feeling that it is a false flag in order for Obama to send weapons to the government in Kiev.

This is not a weak air defense it has a 1 shot kill rating of 95 percent against tactical aircraft. It is very capable against anything civilian likely 100 percent. It is also intelligent enough to know when it is facing an aircraft with radar that is targeting it. It is able to be integrated and also commanded from upstream headquarters.
