Another new Fahaka!

They can be quite active... especially for a larger puffer...
 
thats tempting! better get your channel catfish or the puffer out of the way soon, puffers are well know fin nippers
 
yeah my little guy is super active. only time hes not moving is when he's buried in the sand! Also yeah that catfish is going to come out shortly, although the only aggression was really on his end so far! The puffer chases him a bit but he tried to bite the stomach of the puffer! It was crazy to watch, seemed kinda harmless though as they left each other alone since then.
 
well today was a first for me......little man puffed out his stomach a giant ball!! freaked me the hell out.....only stayed inflated for a few seconds then he did a few "coughs" and went back to normal......crazy and amazing to watch......he literally tripled in size within a few seconds.......
 
Hahaha, its always a bit of a shock the first time you see it happen... i still remember the first time each of my puffers puffed and freaked out thinking whats this big ball floating in the tank...
 
I've never seen my fahaka puff. He's close to 12" now & 10 years old, so I doubt I ever will.
 
I sold my 9" Fahaka last year. They are cool creatures. Mine allowed a school of red tetras to stay in the tank. It gave the tank a little more action.
