Since there are so many misinformed people here who are so sure they have a piraiba no matter what anyone else tells them, let me add myself to the mix with my "new piraiba"...:ROFL::

Sorry, but I couldn't wait till April 1st to post this!

Why don't we let the "experts" chime in to correctly identify this new "strain of piraiba"

This is the first of two that I picked up...note it's unique swimming mannerism...I call it the "upside down, short streamer, head standing dwarf piraiba" or b. UDSSHSDP in short.

dang, thought he was dead...

Looked dead to me too I'm glad he is active. It looks just like my fish when it was 2"-2.5" long just grey in color with barbels about as long as the fish or longer(mine were longer than the body and tail) and a nice long streamer and at 3.5"-4.5" it will develop spots that will eventually will disappear around 16"-20" I believe well at least according to my "mystery fish" at 15" I believe within 6 months to a year the spots will be gone. Is your fish eating yet?
