My initial thought toward its ID was flavicans as well.

What confuses me that B. flavicans is a junior synonym for the Jau (Z. zungaro), but I see lots of people referring to their B. rousseauxii as flavicans. :/ What the heck is that all about?

Whatever we're gonna call this thing in latin, I think its a Dourada.

I noticed this as well but thought looking at this thread that maybe there was another fish now referred to as B. Flavicans. Mentioned it in reference to someone stating an aquabid seller was selling Z. Zungaro here.

Big pims confuse the hell out of me lol. Douradas have like three different names and one of those names is ALSO a junior synonym for the Jau.

I know the answer to this question: the OP's fish is a big grey Amazon catfish!

ur fish is a Brachyplatystoma flavicans, not a piriba . piriba is Brachyplatystoma filamentosum

Just going by photos alone, not a Piraiba, either Durado, platy but definitely from the B fam.
