Having some off time around Christmas and always looking for a project or something to do I figured now is the time to dive in to the plywood build. After reading and learning from so many builds on here , doing a little of my own figuring , and the DIY Kings videos I have finally settled on a design. The dimensions will be 84” x 29” height x 38” width. Those will be the true inside dimensions of my finished tank. Outside dimensions will obviously be a couple inches bigger. I wanted to go a little bigger but also wanted to keep ample room in my garage for my cars and workspace areas I need for other projects. Was gonna use birch but decided after talking to a couple people and just liking it more than birch I went with 3/4” maple instead.
The actual viewing window should be 23” x 78.5 “ leaving over 1.5” for the window to overlap and be siliconed and leave a gap between the glass and edges of the tank. Also went with black pond shield to do the inside and will be fiberglassing all the seams. Will update and take pics as my build progresses. Planning on a month total for everything including plumbing to be done. But we will see how that goes lol. And also for the stand will be having one of my guys in my shop weld a 1.5” x 1/4” square tube steel stand .

Lookin good. Yeah I was pretty stressed with that cut, and I didn't have a table saw. Did it with clamps and a guide

Thanks man. Yea I saw your build too. It’s looking solid Funny you said that. That’s actually how I did the interior cuts except I have this guide I bought that attaches to my skil saw and hooks on to the edge of the plywood and turns it into like a ghetto table saw lol but it worked good for me
