Another Project...

And where are the pics?! lol. I've wanted to do a willow for some time but can't seem to find any tiny ones around. We've got an enormous willow in the back yard and it drives me up a wall that I can't find any saplings.

Lol, the awesome thing with willow is it will root anywhere anyhow anytime :) Just cut off a branch, remove the twigs and leaves, shorten it to a good size and stick it into earth. Keep damp and in a few weeks time it wil have an insane amount of roots.
No need to put up pics yet..I'm just waiting for it to get a bit of girth.

I'm really not expecting most of them to survive the winter so I'm stocking up on saplings to try different methods of winterization on different tree types.

Figured it was high time for an update. :)

One made it through the winter. Yay!! Semi-success! I think it's the cottonwood that made it.
