Im sure this is going to start a controversy but... does anyone know that if two batman rays breed they produce batman rays?

I would say no. I think batmans do not fully develop during the gestation period within the ray mother. IMO This also adds to the rarity of the ray since this trait cant be breed out, but just happens as a product of its embryonic development.

If it was genetic, I think they would have been breed out for this trait by now. :popcorn:

It IS genetic. ;)

Every step of the baby rays development is controled by its genes.

And even though both parents have the same recessive gene that causes this defect, dosent mean that all the pups will turn out as batman rays.

Got any evidence of this? Weblink perhaps?

Every step? I respectfully disagree. Example being lets say the mother ray isnt getting proper nutrition? Not receiving the maximum or natural amount of vitamins, minerals, food sources might hinder the pups development.

Perhaps its a mixture of environment and genetics???
