With the dry rock from brs, is there any special way id have to prepare it to go into the tank? Differently than live rock?

With dry/base rock you don't have to do anything to. I would however, rinse it of to remove any dust/debris before I'd put it in the tank.
The best thing to do is but all base/dry rock on the bottom and put live/premium rock on top; so that the live rock can seed the dry work with bacteria - eventually making it live rock too.

It really doesn't matter how you have the live or base rock positioned. But most fishkeepers like putting live premium rock on top because it is normally covered in pink/purple colored coraline algae; so it looks better having pinkinsh rocks on top...as opposed to base rock (which is usually white/grey in color)

Sounds good to me? Just remember to arrange the rocks so that there is flow inbetween most of the rocks to eliminate stagnant areas.
