And DO parasites LEAD to a bacterial infection or are they 2 totally different unrelated issues?

I think the two are indirectly related. IMHO I think that sometimes treatments create more stress on rays and open themselves up to even more health risks given their already compromised immune system. Kind of like a domino effect...

i have a feeling this red spot is due to poor water quality, over crowded conditions or inappropriate substrate. if this is a open sore bacteria infections can easily develop and if this is the case antibiotics is a must. if rays are not showing pelvic bones or there head sunken in i would not be thinking of treatment for internal parasites.

NO,no & no
The fish came to him infected with bugs & such, no question!

Hip bones and sunken in forehead were definetly present.

I guess I'll never know what killed him. Leaning towards stress......

QUESTION..... IS it possible for a ray to OD on Prazi? I'm assuming not likely from the concentration in the water.... HOWEVER What about them directly eating it? I'm injecting nightcrawlers with Prazi and I tell you what they can hold a lot..... Guessing roughly 1/2 tsp/worm.

The female seems to be doing well (knock on wood) She ate 10 nightcrawlers yesterday and the first 3 were Prazi filled. She looks kinda pale but breathing seems normal and no apparant visible signs of any problems.

Thanks for the help, kind words, and advice guys. This is definetly a lot to have to take on and deal with yourself.
