another Tenecor let down

This is unfortunately how I figured it'd go. That's why I pointed out on another thread here someone from Tenecor posted and said that kind of stuff was normal. I've never had an acrylic tank, so I wouldn't have had a clue it wasn't supposed to be like that. Hopefully with some pressure you can get it resolved.
I think they meant their manufacturing table was uneven. Guess someone should build a real table and give back the milk crates to the milk man.
Yeah.....This is not an e-mail issue man. Call them.
And if it doesn't go how you want, do the things listed below:
-File a dispute on your credit card
-File with small claims court and hire an attourney
-File a case with the better business bureau
Definitely file with the BBB. This lets other customers know companies that they should stay away from. And it puts a smudge on the companies reputation. I've seen companies resolve issues that they said they would not just because they got notice that the complaint was filed with the BBB. I did this when a company refused to take back a brand new product that I hadn't opened when they sent me the wrong product. They gave me a refund once they saw that I had filed with the BBB.
DO NOT SETTLE ON THIS ISSUE. You really need to stand up for customers and yourself on issues like this. Otherwise companies like Tenecore will continue to scam customers out of their hard earned money.
And make sure you know what your deadlines are with your CC company and your court system where you live. If things are not resolved before those deadlines, FILE!

I think some excess solvent is normal, but the amount that is acceptable is up for debate. Here's a pic of the top of my tank. As you can see there is quite a bit of excess solvent (white/cloudy area) that ran away from the seam. The bottom panel has significantly less although now that I have gravel in the tank, you can't see it at all. I would rather there be a bit of spillover or solvent than a seam that appears to not have enough. Plus, this photo was taken when the tank was first filled up...the excess solvent appears to have absorbed some water and it much less white. Since none of the excess runoff solvent is on a viewing panel, I don't mind too much. What does bother me is that they had to add a strip of acrylic rod to make my overflow columns water tight; they are flat out ugly.
I don't know that it's worth your time and aggravation to try to get them to replace your son's tank considering some solvent runoff appears to be "normal."

Adding acrylic pieces to make it water tight would not fly with me. The glue issue could be hidden with a canopy but the overflow wack job will be seen easily.
From what I understand Tenecor used to have problems with tanks leaking and in the last few years have been going overkill on the cement. I have an old Tenecor 240 Hex and it isn't like that, but all the newer tanks of theirs I have seen have a hideous amount of cement on them.
