I will update mire later this guy is a beast I am thinking of getting one more haha. I changed to slate rock tile and am getting better color contrast from my bichirs. He has grown an inch already.

Little advise, a red bottom will bring out much much nicer contrast in ur bichirs.

Yea i Know but for me I enjoy what i have and do not really like the red sand. I like to keep to more browns and what not.

I use black sand, but will chang out to a black and red mix this weekend, the black seems to make them dull to me

Black makes them very dull I had black sand and it was killing me made my bichirs looks plain but now i have gone to slate rock bottom and am getting higher contrast as it has shades of clack grey and burnt orange in it. I would go red but i cannot find the color red i like like they have in asia. Here the red is just not right for me its too red not the right shade. look forward to pics mike.
