Ants in your biotope

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They're cool but it seems like such a waste for just ants imho. I love creating vivariums, ripariums, & Paludariums though. It's hard to do a true bio though because plants from a particular area are so hard to find most of the time.

I wouldn't put any ants in mine, the Mrs wouldn't let me.
I do find it a very interesting set up though.

If those things got free it would be a nightmare. My wife has a cow if a FF or something similar is found upstairs. I'd be living with you if the "fire nation" got out...or a halfway house for abused spouses

Anyone ever considered having a land area with ants?
Don't know if you've all seen this video, I found it fascinating.

I love the Ants Canada channel and the set up.
Having said that, I would not put ants in a tank. I struggle enough with them living on a subtropical island. Don't need an extra lot to worry about.

i do like the idea of having a small insect the fish can predate on a lot. I wonder what kinds of insects could possibilities?

I've considered that in an archer fish set up. Would be pretty cool I think. I like the noise crickets make too.
I think the noise of the crickets amplified by being in a tank could be quite deafening in a closed room.
