I have a snail, but he's lazy.any that you recommend? my cousin has a Pleco, but that is too big for my 4 gallon tank. I'm asking for a 29 gallon for Christmas, though. thatnks for the help!

I would wait till you got the 29 gallon, and then look into a gold nugget pleco, or other plecos that stay less than 4-5"

gold nugget pleco, got it. thanks!

O.K, thanks for all the help!

I love the Chinese Algae eaters. I put a few in my tank when I had an algae problem, and they literally cut little mouth-wide paths through the algae. I could see where they have been eating, and watch their progress. Like a little lawn mower.

Unfortunately they disappeared from my tank, someone made a meal of them.

Chinese algae eaters can also get on the larger side, and may even chase around other fish. Some people find as they get bigger they no longer like the taste of algae; it seems fish taste better.

Otocinclus or Bristlenose Plecos would be your best algae eaters for a small tank. They're the best algae eaters, IMO and the Chinese Algae Eater will eventually stop eating algae and get aggressive. Gold Nuggets look nice, but aren't the greatest algae eaters.
