I doubt any of these will fit in a 4 gallon, so I'l wait for the 29. and will any of these go well with a GSP?

when you get a GSP you have to do the maintenance on your own. or the GSP will own the algae eater... and please, dont go to wal-mart or really even petsmart to get them. go to a specialized store. and make sure you read a ton about them and if you have questions ask. people will definitely help you. and hi Ben!

Most snails are not effective algae eaters. What species do you have? Try olive nerites. These are better options than fish IMO. If you are looking to keep snails, Aquariacentral.com has plenty of invert enthusiasts who breed nerites, brigs, etc.

I don't know what it is, my dad bought it while I was fencing (swordfighting, not putting up fences...), but I think it is an apple snail.

you mean wipe it down, don't you?

and hi Will!

otocinclus stay small enough for a 4 gallon tank. i think they max out at 1.5 to 2 inches. mine has been 1.5 since i got him and they are always eating. also, i don't know the scientific name but, pit bull plecos are like bristlenose plecos only they stay around 2 inches. when you get your 29, i have some rubberlipped plecos and they work well. they stay under 5 inches too.

cool, thanks. Will the otocinclus go well with White Clouds or will one own the other?

Yes, they will. You're better off with snails IMO. Olive nerites are your best bets. PM Arakkis or msjinkzd in Aquariacentral.com for those if you want them.

I have a snail, but he's lazy.any that you recommend? my cousin has a Pleco, but that is too big for my 4 gallon tank. I'm asking for a 29 gallon for Christmas, though. thatnks for the help!

:) he doesnt algae clean much. never did actually.

Gold Nuggets aren't for the faint of heart so don't get your hopes up there :-) They're beautiful but not the easiest to get to do well IMO. And he'd cost more than the 29 gal tank so that may not be something you'd want. A Bristlenose stays small and they're way cool looking, like something prehistoric. Mine is worth twice his weight in gold keeping even the brown algae out of the tank. But I seldom see him. Don't get a fish to to "clean your tank" though. Get one because you want one and think it's a cool fish worth taking care of. The best thing to keep the tank clean is elbow grease.
