All this thread does to me, is make me want to role up a newpaper and *>SPLAT<* Ha, im just joking, those spiders look so awesome. I always wanted to get a scorpion, or spider, but I would always be terrified of them somehow getting out of their cage and find them in my bed. Cool stuff Beardo

I can handle regular small spiders, like when theres one in my room, I let them run on my arm and bring em outside, or if there big & scary lookin I get a cup and scoop'em up to bring them out, I never kill them. But I don't know if I could handle a big tarantula.

I'm fine with spiders as long as they stay a good few feet away from me. :)

i love the blue fanged spider and the scorpions

I am actually in the works for getting my first T. It is going to be a rose hair since I read they are the best for people just starting in the hobby. I do have several jumping spiders and other spiders living all around the house though. I actually have one daring jumping spider that I am keeping captive, it is so cool wtching them stalk and pounce on their prey. When I was a kid I used to keep all kinds of local spider and remember having a jumper for about a year.

Awsome pictures BTW.

Anybody keep sun spiders? also called wind scorpions, great little monsters.

Solfugids (Sun Spiders, etc) make very poor captives. They stress to the point of death if not kept super hot and they have a maximum lifespan that ranges from a few weeks to a few months. Its too bad because they are wicked looking critters.

I never kept one but always liked their looks.

I just checked out your gallery and without a doubt, your mystery spider is a Stout-Leg Baboon (Eucratoscelus pachypus)....very cool spiders. Its definitely a species I'd like to get in the future.

Thanx  Yeah, its a very cool spider. I originally bought them under the impression that it was a red feater leg (stromatopelma calceatum) spiderling (with about 9 others, I bought 10). I then realised at about .5 " that they couldn,t walk up walls. :swear: Yep, needless to say I was a little pissed. Got rid of all of them except one. Now I wish I had some more to try and breed them. Cool, agressive little tarantula. Also very slow growing, only about 3" in a year and a half.

i own the following species:

0-0-1 Theraphosa blondi
0-1 Brachypelma boehmi
0-1 Brachypelma Albopilosa
0-2 Grammostola rosea
0-1 Lasiodora pharybana
0-1 Avicularia species
