My 11" male red devil lets me pet him an gets mad if I don't feed him right when I wake up. He also pushes a whiffle ball around the tank.

I had a Uaru for many years that was the closest thing to a wet pet I've ever had.

Uaru would eat lettuce from my fingers and rub against my hand when I would clean the tank. Grew to almost a foot... Very cool interactive fish!

I also had an African Lungfish...which is an amazing, intelligent interactive animal...but not one that I'd try to pet or mess with after seeing what a big one can do to a piece of meat...

I had a 6" red devil that would eat from my hand then slowly started to let me touch him. So if your really serious train to eat from your hand first the petting will come later. It lets the fish know your hands are safe but watch your fingers cleaning the tank they some times nip at them thinking you have food

That's incredible... what a happy appreciative fish

Back when I had my arowana, he let me pet him. Haha I almost forgot when my ex girlfriend tryed to pet the aro, he freaked and bit her hand really hard ha. and now Im feeding my stingray by hand so when he sees my hand ill lay it on the ground and hill swim right up on my hand but I got nipped on afew days ago so now I just softly pet the top of him.

My super red severum is pretty interactive and won't swim away if I touch him. He's also never shown interest in spawning or interacting with tankmates, so I just assumed he was "slow"...

Uaru are definitely great fish as far as wet pets go.

LOL! I never risked it with the smell of food anywhere near or too close to his head ever. :)

i had an oscar that loved to be petted. i have a snowflake moray that i handfeed and occasionally pet. the most interactive fish i've ever had by far was an adult 12" clown trigger, it would show emotions and interaction almost like a dog.

My RTC use to lay on the bottom and let my scratch its head till I quit, that was till I had to upgrade tanks. Ever since I had to move it, it quit laying still. Now my 2 TSN will do the same thing. My smaller TSN will even swim up to my hand and lay down waiting to be scratched. My jurunese will lay still and be pet on the head ans wil let me pick it up and move it wherever I want to. Both of my CK will swim through my hands and rub against.
