Any Bonsai tree Keepers?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Alright, so they ARE separate trees. Is there a specific reason why shallow pots are always used? I already bought a pot, but it's probably around 5" tall, maybe 7" diameter, is this a bad choice? Do you have a soil recommendation for my money tree? Thanks man :)
Well, they are two trees, but not separate. I got them together, and couldn't separate them, since their root grew attached to each other.
Shallow pot show more of the tree. Plus, in order to keep the tree small, you need to trim and keep the root small. The down side of shallow pot is hard to water. You need to spray the soil. The pot you bought is not bad choice for money tree. You need well-drain soil for money tree. I'm not picky with soil. Any potting soil will do for me. I buy non brand name potting soil from Home Depot, or my local nursery, wherever give me a better deal. Miracle-gro potting mix will do just fine

Great! Very much appreciated!! :) I'll repot my tree asap! It's practically living in a cup.

Bought three 1-gallon Bougainvillea from Home Depot for $5.99 or $6.99 each 2 or 3 years ago. Plant them in a corner in front of the house. Dug them up 2 or 3 months ago, separate and re-pot them... Got myself 5 "bonsai" in the making :D Probably it's about time to re-pot them, since they're acclimated and blooming. This time, I will lower the soil and expose more root on some of them.

Sorry, I should of been more detailed. It was on our balcony :p

I'm more of an aquatic plant keeper...
Sure, like that will help... How much direct sun light did the plant get?

Wow, I didn't think they'd be so cheap!

You can get most 1-gallon size plant or seedling for less than $20, and spend years to grow them; or you can short-cut and pay hundreds to thousands for a show piece bonsai
