I am deffinatly going to make a plea on one of them or both if i have to.

as for the insurance i already know there is a chance of this going up, and that will be a killer for me.

Don't worry :) Not many of us worry about insurance premiums til this kind of situation at 18 :D

Much of this depends on the insurance company.. some go out 5 years... most only 3.

Get a radar detector. I got caught doin 145 in a 100 zone (kph)

The Volvo topped out at 240 :grinno:

Of course I never went that fast ;)

What volvo? I can only think of two that can sustain those speeds...s60r, or a v70r, and the v70r would be pushing it. The v70s just aren't made for it, and the v70r is an older car. I drive a v70, and I start to worry above 100. Fastest I got it up to was 120, and it was shaking pretty good....My bro has a 2005 s60r, it is a BEAST. He took me for a ride in it, had it at 160 in no time, and the thing was still wanting to go.

And to those who say Volvo's ain't beasts?

Its 5 as far CA DMV is concerned, but its not just a matter of time, its also frequency; you are allowed so many points from moving violations for a given period of time. They all fall off after 5 yrs.

I forget the exact numbers but you can find them online; its defined in vehicle code 12810.5 V.C..

I was in a similar situation last spring, had 3 speeding violations in a year, two for very high speeds, i got a letter saying my license would be suspended. I made arrangements to have a hearing with the DMV Driver Safety Office and got put on a 1 yr probation instead.

if you like i can PM you the DSO phone number fo your area.

One more important note, you cant do traffic school for 15 over the limit; i learned that the hard way.....
