Its 5 as far CA DMV is concerned, but its not just a matter of time, its also frequency; you are allowed so many points from moving violations for a given period of time. They all fall off after 5 yrs.

I forget the exact numbers but you can find them online; its defined in vehicle code 12810.5 V.C..

I was in a similar situation last spring, had 3 speeding violations in a year, two for very high speeds, i got a letter saying my license would be suspended. I made arrangements to have a hearing with the DMV Driver Safety Office and got put on a 1 yr probation instead.

if you like i can PM you the DSO phone number.

One more important note, you cant do traffic school for 15 over the limit; i learned that the hard way.....

where does it say that? I read that 25 and under you are elligable for it. and being a first offence for anything also elligable..

and yes I would like that number please

That volvo is beastly!

Not sure if it helps but I got out of a speeding ticket in NY for doing 74 in a 45. The reason I got off you can ask the court when was the last time the speed gun was calibrated. If they can not prove the last time it was calibrated they have to dismiss because the equipment they can not prove was an accurate reading. Just a idea I know its diff in NY that CA

that sucks, dude. I got a huge speeding ticket a while back, too.

I don't know any CHP, just LA County Sheriff (Compton area, lol)

yeah my grandfather does stuff with la county shariff and other county's and that is what he told me. hopefully he has some pull or people that owe him favors to help out a little
lol

I recieved 4 speeding tickets from the CHP in the past 3 years. All 4 tickets I pleaded not guilty for and went to court. On my court date, no cops ever showed up, so my cases were always dismissed. To get out of the miss, do what I did. Make the court date in a rush hour time, or find a way to find out what days the cop is off and make the court date on that date. A little research will get you out of a ticket. :) Your welcome.

thanks,
I plan on doing all these within two weeks of the tickets, both CHP officers looked as if they would ticket their own mothers and go to court for it, so I don't know how it will turn out..
I can only hope neither of them show up:D and everything is dismissed

Good advice from DD.

postpone the court date as long and as many times as you can if you dont resolve it outside of the court room.
