kno4te kno4te , Am doing the 1tbsp per 5 gallons. The store I went to yesterday didn't have the polyguard but I did pick up a few meds so that I have them on hand. Kanaplex, Metroplex and something, can't remember right now. The belly is rounded out on both sides at this point, he is almost looking like he is gasping as of 2 days ago. I agree that the pics weren't very good and unless ya saw the fish in person to see the actual lumps, to look at the pics does not help here. Thanks for looking anyway.

pops pops , I'm choosing to sedate so I don't stress him out anymore than I have to. I feel that it would be easier for the fish, since I'm doing this alone, to lightly sedate him so he isn't flopping all over, which will help the process of force feeding him the garlic, med and foods mixture a little easier.

Do I need to use Focus if I am force feeding?

Can PraziPro be given internally?

Focus is used to bind the medicine to the food. It’ll dissolve in the water. The metro is best used ingested and also works better with the Epsom salt solution. Would try to avoid force feeding. Try ur best with a non-aggressive measures.

Prazipro can be given internally but doesn’t need to as it’ll be affect and treat the fish thru the water column.

I agree with taking the less aggressive route as long as possible and I am not making this decision lightly. It's not something I am looking forward to doing either... Time wise, (availability to do so) if I had to force feed him would be today or Sunday, as much as I feel this needs to be done yesterday, I will give it another couple of days and dose the water with the meds as he is not taking any food at all, and is so thin already, except for the bulging belly.. I'm just afraid that if I wait too long, there won't be any room left in his belly to force anything down there and it could do more harm than good... So torn right now!

I don't know how to edit the pictures to circle the lumps and he is being very camera shy. 2 treatments of Sulfaplex and I can't see that anything is different... Except for the budge on the left side appearing to be bigger

Trying to take a video of him swimming but it's either too long or doesn't have the allowable extension, ugh. Not sure if I should do another dose of Sulfaplex, if I can / should add Epsom salt to the water still...

The easy way to post vids is make a YouTube channel, it's free upload it there, them post the link here.

Lol, that's just a lil advanced for me and none of the kids are home to say "this is how you do it ma!"

For now, I dosed again w Epsom salt. When I vac' the gravel today, no stringy white poop but that doesn't surprise me since he has eaten in a while, will dose again w Sulfaplex, I'm just not sure if I am doing more harm than good here! As I said, the bulge is getting more pronounced, if it were parasites, what I have done so far should have worked, and if it's dropsy, he may be too far along to fix, I'm sure that lump has to hurt!

The more i look at it.....can’t help but think it’s a tumor of some sort. Would finish the course of meds. Maybe consider a vet locally. Hope things change.
