Also the problem is - He doesn't even seem following his own guidelines.
Even if your guidelines are based on flawed source - such as "Aquarium Sharks & Rays" by Scott Micheal. Then at least you could have some basic integrity - because you would have at least one well documented source to fall back on.
BTW "Aquarium Sharks & Rays" is the "Book" Ken Moran recommends getting for information about Shark Husbandary.
Now here's the thing to note - According to "Aquarium Sharks & Rays" - A requiem shark such as the Blacktip Reef, Bonnethead or Sharpnose - Should have - a tank - at least 4-5 times the maximum length of the Shark, and width at least 1.5 times max. length - with a depth roughly equal to the shark's average adult length. Or a Round pool that has the Diameter equal to at least 3 times the maximum length of the Shark.
Here's the minimum pool Diameters for the Requiems according to "Aquarium Shark & Rays"
- Atlantic Sharpnose Shark -12 ft (Ken Moran quotes - 8ft)
- Bonnetheads - 12-15 ft (Ken Moran quotes - 10ft)
- Blacktip Reef - 18-20 ft (Ken Moran quote -10ft)
- Finetooth - 18 ft (Ken Moran quotes - 12 ft)
- Bull - 30-36 ft (Ken Moran quotes -15-20ft)
- Sandbar - 24 ft
- Lemon - 33 ft (Ken Moran quotes - 10-15ft)
- Whitetip Reef - 18-21 ft
While these aren't actually larger enough to house an adult shark of these species - it would at least be enough to house a neonate or small pup if these species of about a year or two.
Also it should be noted that in one of my emails to Ken Moran - He admitted that he knew Scott Micheal's Book was a Flawed Source. But yet his quotes - tend to be about 50% less in Diameter than Scott Micheal's.
