Well I got ahold of piscine and they said they could only ship orders of 60lbs. So I think that is a little more than what we could get a group buy for.

maybe try contacting a few LFS in your area and ask if they would like in on it?

Ya I asked my girlfriend if she would talk to her boss and see if we could work out some deal. She works at a local fish store.

just out of curiousity, but would anyone like to join in on another flowerhorn order from rainnybetta? i am getting pricing right now, i believe he said $10 kml, $15 kk, $20 tita(i think that is silk), he also had red dragon fry but i don't know how much since he didn't give me a price. Let me know if any of you would be interested. I will hopefully get pictures soon. Also cam if you don't want me to post this here, I can move it (which i will probably do). The fry will be like 1".

Here is a picture of one of his 4.5" kk

Go ahead and use this thread Nick we might as well keep it going at this point rather than making a bunch of other threads. It's a good thread to talk about the fry we are all raising still. I would be interested in some more stuff from rainybetta. I've raised a lot of his red dragons before and they were all nice quality and they were only $5 a piece a year or 2 ago. I had a few nice king kamfas come from him but ended up with only 1 ugly one which I gave to my little brother.

Thanks, Cam. Ya after seeing some of his fish, i am really interested. If you want i can ask on pricing for some little red dragons? That not bad to only end up with on bad one. Hopefully i will hear back soon on pictures. I might start a thread in the market place and link it to this, to hopefully get more people interested.

he said $10 for 10 pcs and up on the red dragon. I will add a little more to everything just to help with shipping cost. but it won't be to much. Who should the transhipper be Cam, and how do i contact her?

damn honda that KK looks excellent! i would order some more stuff from them but you are like too far away for me to ever buy, cam seems to be in a central location for most hobbyists in the area. i am in metro detroit and i know about 3 people without asking that would get some more in the near future especially since my order got shorted from cam.

i could drop some off at cams(if that is alright with you cam), it would just be a little extra for gas. I don't mind doing it, cam has some cool fish. just to let everyone know shipping is not included yet, i will figure that out soon tho, it will be pretty low.

I don't have any room for any more flowerhorns right now but I would be interested in doing another group buy for everybody in a few months-year from now. I could probably organize it a little better next time around since I won't be moving and setting tanks up the week before. It just depends what pops up for sale and how much the seller is asking. Shipping is another factor. It took me a long time to find quality fry for that cheap.

here is a link to some fries for sale right now on the site I found our KML and KK's on

they are nice but I am happier with the fish we got @ the price we got them at.

I don't recommend buying single fries off of sellers because the prices won't be that great. Julie is the trans shipper you're going to want to use. She charges $2 per fish to import them, the larger the fish the more expensive but it's about $1 per 1". Fedex overnight is $65 + there might be some packaging fees.

If I were in your guys shoes I'd browse aquabid to see whats for sale under $100. Raising fry is nice but there are some really nice flowerhorn on there from $30-50 that will grow into masterpieces. Sometimes you're better off buying 1 masterpiece then raising 5 fry because it's all a chance at what they're going to send you.

here is a good example of what I am talking about..

this is the first fish I ever imported. I got him from ccooler on aquabid for $50. This was his picture on aquabid

I sold him for $250 at this size (~5-6") but he had a lot of room to grow. I wasn't planning on selling him but there are more fish in the sea, or at least on aquabid in Thailand LOL. When I ordered him I also got another fish from ccooler and some red dragon fry.

here was a $5 red dragon fry from Rainybetta I also got on that order
