Same here. I rode hardtails for 9 years before switching to FS in 1999. The years of bunny hopping obstacles on a hardtail definitely made me a better rider. :) LOL. I remember my old '93 Cannondale M700 was set up like an XC race bike. It had a 135 mm 0 degree rise stem and a narrow (22") Scott AT2LF bar/bar end combo.

BTW, the new Klein looks sweet. Is that a straight or low riser bar you're running?

nice collection i almost bought a klein race on ebay complete but i really wanted to go disc this time thats back when they were true kleins trek amost screwed it up thank god mines still hand built and painted ..

i cant do the free ride anymore but i get more of a high watching then any drug out there i go nuts averytime i see a sheer drop 10'+ the best sport there is hands down always loved it i rode one the first downhill bikes made in the 80's no suspension alpine star with elavated chain stays lol those were the days hang on for dear life no helmets, padding roady golves and jeans :screwy:

Yikes! :( That's why they make full-face helmets. When I do FR or DH, I'm completely suited up with body armor and a full-face helmet. I'm still a complete puss though. I've never done a drop bigger than 7 feet and I don't like ladders that are more than 6 feet in the air unless they are two feet wide. :(
