Man sweet fish, I had one but he wasnt very aggressive and was a pain to feed so I had to get rid of him, I love the looks of these guys though.

thanks i have goten these to eat pellets once but other than that its worms and frozen.

I kept two black crappies for about two years, at which point they were too big for the tank they were in. They are nice, peacable fish. More aggressive fish (such as a rock bass) will pound the tar out of them, so I would advise against that. Mine only ate feeder fish, but I never tried to get them on to pellets.

The fist time I tried to keep them, I tried with a larger (6") fish, but they just wouldn't settle down. When I was able to find two in the 3" range, they did great.

Crappie are generally easy to keep, they gen. eat like pigs and are pretty hard to get on pellets i mainly feed'em worms, crickets, tuffies, there a more laid back fish too

I HAD THEM :)! along with my ultimate native tank consisting of bluegill, sunfish, and largemouths. they are very boring but pretty..
