Bullfighting breeds are pretty cool. They look like mini Aurochs. Speaking of Aurochs, did you ever see Heck Cattle? Pretty interesting how they bred back traits to make it look like the orginal wild cattle of Europe, Bos taurus primigeniuss which became extinct around the early 1600's.

I know about heck catle and yes its very interesting;) However aparently there is the problem of the cows not being the color they should. If you ask me the closest we can get today of a auroch would be crossbreeding one of the ressurected breeds with bullfigth toros:D

Well but since we are having this interesting cow talk is allways good to remenbar how close we are to lose for ever hundreds if not thousands of cow, sheep, goat and other domestic lifestock breeds of ancient lineages both in Africa as well in Asia, in Europe and even in America. They are animals with priceless caracteristics like extreme tolerance to starvacion, lack of water and desiase but they are forgeted because of a handfull of more productive western breeds. They must be protected like any wild endangered animal for our future;)

I Know! We nearly lost Dutch Belted, a horned dairy form of Belted Galloway to the crossing with Holstein. Right now the United States have probably only 200 to 600 head of registered purebred Dutch Belted. Minnesota Zoo has some of these oreo milking cows along with another rare breed dairy cattle Canadianne (darker black jeresy).

Thankfully many exotic and rare cattle breeds are saved by find a market for them. Nearly of them are low fat lean meat and free of problems. Mini zebu and Lowline angus are gaining popular for small acreage farmers and even commerical farmers add Lowline bulls to the yearling heifers for birth trouble-free. Yaks are gain popular too as they only eat less than angus cattle and useful in crossbreeding with commerical cows.

All exotic & rare cattle are hot items for healthy foods market, public attractions, small farms and sometimes crossbreeding however only if its common exotic breed (aka scottish highlanders and brahram), not rare breeds. I believe most rare breeds are registered to the Rare Breed Consvasty (spelling?).

thats fcked up cow!:WHOA: I believe they are called Supercow but they are actually Belgian Blue cattle, much bigger than your average angus and have genetics that cause these supercow have double muscle, instead of single muscle. But they will look sweet in front yard!!:headbang2 Even the grizzlies would rethinking before attacking that bull.
