Any one own exotic cattle?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There are cows about 4 blocks from here . Some are long horns most are reg cows but these cows never cooperate when I try to take a pic.

When I dont need a pic they come right up to me. If I had a ranch would have cows as they seem like fairly smart animals.

Too bad mini zebu tastes like a 15 years old dairy cow...not enough fat or flesh. However Belties tastes like more superior than these angus cattle.

I thought they were bred as pets like mini horses . Never thought as food

Mainly they were too small as commerical cattle (angus, hereford, black baldy etc) but they are good for small acreage farmer that has small land that cannot support fullsized beef. Also mini zebu is very useful for crossbreeding to other mini cattle breed for heat tolerant and flies resisent traits. But yes majority of mini zebu bred as pets.

I edited my post and added a link to his owners website with info about him. It looks like he is still alive.
i believed that Lurch is in his 10's which is good age for uneaten steer with great care by his loving owners.
